'Lowboy' Arcade

This little Lowboy is an old 'Street Fighter' and (believe me!) has the scars to prove it. The cabinet is locally made, of (as yet) unknown origin but definitely bears the 'patina' of a commercially operated machine.

As purchased the Glass is Gone, the Bezel was Broken, the C.R.T. Chipped so all those need replacement just to begin with. The door had been kicked in at some point, was reinforced and a padlock added for good measure. If that wasn't enough street cred, some punk even 'tagged' it!

The cabinet is 'no frills' without any provision for marquee lighting. I'll probably add some low voltage wiring for a LED strip and possibly a better speaker setup while I'm at it. The small 4" speaker is currently fitted to the door behind those tiny holes.

One positive aspect is the control setup with MCA joysticks and buttons though even that needs work, the button spacing is a bit uneven and the overlay cracked. The 2 Player Start button needs replacement as well.

I bought the machine with two game boards, the original Street Fighter II PCB set which runs but has graphics issues - this may or may not be repairable as some of the custom ICs are prone to problems and now unavailable - and a 'spare' which doesn't seem to run and just has garbage on its video output. That one may only be good for spares at the end of the day...
